I first heard about black garlic from a friend of mine who is a dietitian, and she spoke very highly of it, especially for its nutritional benefits. That got me curious to try it myself.
The first one I tried was from Costco, but honestly, it didn’t even look like garlic. There were no proper cloves, and the texture felt quite off, so it didn’t really impress me.
Then I tried this black garlic, and the difference was clear straight away. It actually looks like real garlic, with distinct cloves. The taste is mildly sweet, mellow, and very pleasant, and the texture is soft and easy to spread. It feels natural and well made.
I especially loved it with salmon, it adds a beautiful depth of flavour without being overpowering. After trying this, I wouldn’t go back to the other one. Highly recommend giving it a go if you’re curious about black garlic.
